Production Training

Delve deeply into Pro Tools, one of the world’s most powerful audio production tools.

Volume-adjustments: Strike that delicate balance between maintaining consistent, national broadcast quality sound levels and preserving the aesthetic dynamics of your audio.

Audio-processing: Master the mysteries of compression and limiting, and the intricacies of EQ. Learn not only how but also when to process sound. Enhance even early archival recordings.

Preference-panels: Navigating the maze of PT prefs — what to set when.

Error!: Handling those pesky PT error warnings.

This two-day training of intermediate to advanced Pro Tools techniques will streamline your time on task, giving you the skills to make your piece stand out and sound great .

Discover what it takes to do a seamless mix. Hone your listening skills to improve your mix. Levels vs. loudness — learn the difference and why it’s important. Take your EQ skills to the next level — identify what audio needs help, what tools to use, and how to use them. Hear how to use stereo effectively. Know what things can go wrong, and how to get them right. Acquire the art and craft to master a long format project into a beautiful mix.

Class is limited to three participants. Lots of personal attention to address your issues.

Equipments needed for class: Bring your laptop and Pro Tools set-up if possible. Bring audio to mix or EQ. Waves plug-ins are helpful but not required. Highly recommended is a digital level meter plugin such as Inspector XL (free version).

Dates: To Be Announced
